We work in one of the most protected quarters in Northern Europe, where a wall can be six hundred years old and every intervention has to be carefully considered. So we begin with what is already there: the timber, the limestone, the lime plaster, the marks left by earlier hands. We let the building set the terms.

What comes next is thorough planning, with clear objectives and a schedule. In restoration we use genuine materials, and the work is done by hand. Modern comfort, building services and finishes are woven into the building tastefully and in keeping with its character. Details matter to us, and details are where we put particular care.
